In fact I’d be willing to bet that almost all of us have bought a gift for someone online or used a company’s website to access their services. We have probably all used ebay.com, amazon.com, or even walmart.com. Shopping online is fast and convenient which is probably why so many people these days are forsaking department stores.

The convenience of shopping online cannot be overstressed. We all love the ease of shopping from home barefoot and clad in sweats. We can do this while at the same time patting the cats and cooking dinner. Everyone finds entertainment value in web surfing. Even our cell phones let us shop online from wherever we are.

You may have wondered who came up with the brilliant idea to create facebook.com or eBay.com. It seems that they must have advanced degrees in computer science or marketing and have years of experience in those fields. The person who created facebook.com was just a kid in college. Hey, if he could create something from his college dorm that made him billions of dollars, why can’t we?

With all the current technology surrounding us, any of us really could add our successful business to the many other successes found online. We could also reap the rewards of those millions who do their shopping for goods and services online every single day. We can finally be the captain of the universe or at least our own boss.

We probably all hear talk around the water cooler about how our job sucks and we would love to win the lottery or be our own boss one day. Most of us though just figure it will never happen and force the thought to the back of our minds. That being our own boss just sounds too fantastic to ever be an actual possibility.

We assume that starting a business is fraught with risk and an extreme need for capital to start it up. We have all seen restaurants that opened with such fanfare and hope fail before the year was out losing every penny the budding restaurateur put into it. Retail stores and restaurants are on the decline in the real world, possibly due to our sinking economy and possibly to the ease of shopping online.

Online business is at an all-time high. Unlike many other businesses, the amount of online customers is constantly growing. That means that your best chance of being your own boss and running your own business is to start an online business. This is great because not only can you be your own boss and choose your own hours, but you can do it all from the comfort of your own home.

People across the country enjoy shopping online because it is fast, easy and convenient. We ourselves have probably all enjoyed and utilized online shopping. There is currently a huge opportunity for any of us wanting to be our own bosses. Finally any of us can choose own hours and still make enough money to pay the bills. Now it’s not just people who majored in computer science or business that can make money online. With the right software any of us can be our own boss. So say good-bye to the boss and the water cooler, and say hello to working from home!
