Plastic Surgery: The Good, The Bad, The Unbelievable
There are a few different categories of people whom have plastic surgery performed, these include once that do it to look younger and ones that need it. The ones that have it done to look younger tend to not know when to stop and become caricatures of their former selves. The other half that have it done because they need it, have it done to make their bodies whole again which seems to be a better reason.
Like any other procedure bad experiences are a part of this business, such as breast implants that burst and end up killing the owner. Also facial reconstructions that leave the person looking like a monster thus ruining their lives have been known to exist. The most important thing to remember is that there is such a thing as too much work.
Reconstructions are performed on people of all ages and the successful ones are some of the best ones to hear about. Unfortunately children are amongst these stories and the most common reason is birth defects. Clefts both in the lip and palate are quite common birth defects that affect children all over the world.
The defect itself is commonly found in children during the early development stages while it is in the womb. The downside is that there is nothing that can be done until the baby is born at which point it will have problems eating and speaking until it is fixed. If the cleft is in the lip and the palate then multiple surgeries must be performed to reconstruct the mouth.
Breast modification procedures are also common among women and are completed for many different purposes including reconstruction, augmentation, and reduction. Reconstruction is a procedure that is performed for women whom have had breast cancer and lost one or both breasts. Augmentation is the procedure to increase the size and reduction is the opposite where the size is reduced to for health reasons.
Because there is always a bad side to every procedure, the bad side of this one is something that can be defined as tragic in some cases. As stated above some of the procedures end in death due to malfunctioning implants. Others end badly because the job is not done correctly and the person ends up leaving this world because they cannot live with the results.
Plastic surgery can be a life saver and it can also be a life taker, for this reason any individual who is considering a procedure needs to be very careful. The best plan is to fully research the doctor who is going to be doing the procedure. If there are any doubts, cancel the operation and find a credible doctor to perform the procedure.
