Is the rotary furnace for you? That depends in part on whether you are looking to a continuous or batch operating mode. But more importantly it depends on what quality you input feed will be.

Rotary furnaces are ideal for the lower quality scrap and dross- In fact for inputs with aluminium content ranging below 75% to 35%, they may be your only option; the other furnace technologies are not as effective id dealing with low quality inputs.

The rotary furnace is notoriously inefficient, which demanding maintenance and the need to handle the salt cake refuse, which is a hazardous product. But they may be your only option where your input is if a low-grade.

Other options for metal recycling you may want to consider are sweating furnaces or gas fired crucibles; these may also be able to handle the lower grades of aluminium scrap. Alternatively check out the electric reverberatory and electric crucible furnaces for higher grade applications.
